Mt Kenya Forest Trail Run

The Mt Kenya Forest Trail Run is a 11k and 22k trail run around the Mt Kenya forest on March 19th 2017. Please note that the following entry form MUST be completed to secure your entry – payment alone is not a registration.

ROUTE

The route will be fully marked with marshals and water points along the way.

REGISTRATION

Regular entry is 3,000/= and is open until midnight on Sunday 12th March. Entry fee for late registration (starting on Monday 13th March) is 5,000/=. Late registration closes on Saturday 18th March (online entries close on Friday 17th – you can register in person on Saturday 18th). We encourage you to register early to avoid the late registration fee! Entries are capped to 200 people. Entry includes a race number and finisher’s medal. All participants registered by Sunday 26th February will have personalised race numbers.

1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers for men and women will be awarded a trophy.

Entry fee to be paid by MPesa payment to BUY GOODS till number: 177050.

Once again, 500/= from each entry goes directly to a cause, and this time we are raising money to support the Mount Kenya Rescue Team.

GENERAL INFO

All runners will be expected to be at the camp the day before the race, on Saturday 18th March. Registration and briefing will be on Saturday. You can collect your race numbers from the camp on Saturday 18th March between 3-7pm. THERE WILL BE NO REGISTRATION ON SUNDAY MORNING. The road into the campsite is generally good. Access is through the Mt Kenya Safari Club and it will be signposted. Start line is approximately 3hr from Nairobi. Directions will be emailed to participants closer to the time. Please note that we will be asking you for information as to who and how many of you will be coming up to the campsite – this information will be left at the gate of Mt Kenya Safari Club – if you do not send this to us then you may find it difficult to get in! We will email you more details beforehand.

CAMPING

There will be a campsite available at the race HQ at a beautiful campsite behind Mt Kenya Safari Club, with a stunning view of Mt Kenya. Access will be through Mt Kenya Safari Club. Camping fees are 1,000/= per person payable at registration. Children 12yrs and under are 500/=. Basic toilet and shower facilities will be available. You can bring your own tent or hire from our partners. More information about tent hire will be emailed to you. We will have caterers on site who will be selling food and drinks – you will be able to pay using cash or Mpesa.

RACE DAY INFO

The run will begin at 7:30am sharp. Race briefing will take place at the evening before at the race HQ behind Mt Kenya Safari Club. You can collect your race numbers from the camp on Saturday 18th March between 3-7pm.

MEDICAL

There will be an ambulance on site. If you are registered with AMREF Flying Doctors then please let us know on the registration form.
